Inquiry #2: 1. Is conduit on the bridge PVC or rigid for future fiber optic?

2. What is the size of the pull boxes on the ends of the bridge?

Response #2:1/28/14: 1) Please refer to the first paragraph in section 86-2.05B of the Standard Specifications, which states that Type 1 conduit must be used in concrete structures. Additionally, please refer to section 86 of the Special Provisions, that states, "Conduit installed underground must be Type 1."

2) These are No. 5 pull boxes. Please refer to Revised Standard Plan RSP ES-1C. The legend for pull boxes states that No. 5 pull box is to be installed, "unless otherwise indicated or noted"

Inquiry #3: The current contract drawings for the above referenced project do not include a detail of the anchorages. We need the following information in order to give an accurate proposal:

1. What are the dimensions of the bearing plates in the abutment and transverse?

Inquiry #4: Section 59-11.02 indicates, "The stain must be from Natina Products, LLC." and " You may obtain the stain from: Natina Products, LLC ... " This is misleading.

On a recent project this same specification was used, but the stain WAS NOT available from Natina for application by the Contractor. This required the shipment of all elements to be stained to Natina.

Please consider revising the "you may obtain.." portion of this sole source specification to reflect the requirement to ship all elements to and from Natina.
