Welcome to California Department of Transportation’s Division of Engineering Services' Structure Design Services & Earthquake Engineering.  Our office's provide support services to the Division of Engineering Services.  Below is a description of each office under Structure Design Services & Earthquake Engineering.  Several of them have their own internet pages, those links are shown to the left. 
Office of Earthquake Engineering:
• Design support for seismic design and structural dynamic analysis practices and procedures
• Custodian for State Seismic Fault map
Office of Transportation Architecture:
• Provides the contract plans and estimates for transportation related structures
• Provides Architectural and Structural planning, technical support, standards design and review services
Office of Special Funded Projects and Structures Local Assistance:
• Provides technical support to ensure that Transportation Structures on the State Highway System which are designed by others, conform to the Department's Policies, Standards and Practices 
• Provides assistance, training and support aid to all California Local agencies in the creation and delivery of their federal aid structure projects
Office of Electrical, Mechanical, Water and Wastewater Engineering:
• Provides electrical, mechanical, water and wastewater planning, technical support and review services
• Develops design standards for electrical, mechanical, water and wastewater systems
Office of Structure Office Engineer:
• Reviews consultant and Local Assistance special provisions for bridges and related structures
• Provides cost estimates and working day schedules for bridges and related structures 
• Develops, and maintains structure Standard Specifications and Standard Special Provisions
Office of Design & Technical Services:
• Develops standards and criteria for the design of bridge deck joints & bearings, highway sign structures & lighting standards, soundwalls, traffic bridge barriers, earth retaining structures, and underground structures
• Collects most recent bridge site data for design through Preliminary Investigations
• Provides Hydraulics data and expertise to designers
Office of Photogrammetry:
• Provide photogrammetry products for Caltrans use - aerial photography, aerial photography reproductions, photogrammetric digital topographic maps, digital ortho-photographs and photogrammetric digital terrain data.
• Coordinate Caltrans photogrammetry operations; Develop standards for photogrammetry products produced by and for Caltrans; Develop and administer photogrammetry-related service contracts for Caltrans use, including: aerial photography, photographic reproduction, digital map compilation.
• Provide public access to the Caltrans aerial film library - an invaluable archive of aerial photography procured by Caltrans and other cooperating agencies that dates back to the early 1950's; Evaluate, develop, and procure cost-effective, new-technology photogrammetry equipment and systems.
