District Materials Engineering and Testing Labs - Home Page
The District Materials Labs play a critical role in the delivery and quality assurance of Caltrans projects. Under the supervison of the District Materials Engineers, the twelve Caltrans District Labs provide on-site testing and engineering of project materials such as concrete, asphalt and steel to name just a few.

The District Labs work closely with the
Materials Engineering and Testing Services (METS)
which is located at Caltrans'
Transportation Laboratory (TransLab) in Sacramento.
