At the time of distribution, Caltrans mailed copies to the Cypress environmental mailing list and all residences in the 94607 ZIP Code. Common Environmental Terms
Soil Gas
Air that fills spaces in the soil between the
ground surface and the groundwater. Soil gas
may contain chemicals.
Upgradient
A description for groundwater, the same as "upstream" is to surface water.
Groundwater
Water beneath the earth's surface that flows
(often quite slowly) through soil and rock
openings.
