AC Grindings

Asphalt concrete is a valuable resource that can be ground up and reused. Reuse of AC grindings may save money and diverts the material from landfills. However, grinding AC can expose more of its surface area to water contact and may release contaminants. Caltrans reuses AC grindings in a manner that protects fish and water from possible contamination in conformance with regulatory agency requirements outlined in the following documents.
