Pictures of the Bodie State Historic Park Railroad Depot

This acquisition saved the visual integrity of the Bodie valley ("bowl") setting and brings a historic transportation facility under State Park protection. Bodie enjoys the highest historic designation possible, a landmark historic district.

The proposed mining operation that this acquisition prevented had placed Bodie on the National Trust for Historic Preservation's list of the Ten Most Endangered Historic Properties in the United States. It was also listed as one of the 100 most endangered historic properties in the world.

The acquisition includes the historic rail depot, stationmaster's residence, and abandoned rail line, to be developed as trail.
