The Transit Integration program of the Division of Mass Transportation is responsible for assimilating transit into all Caltrans’ manuals, guidance documents and processes. This activity involves working closely with representatives of other divisions, districts, and external agencies to provide the necessary information to update documents appropriately. Staff is currently working with several committees to accomplish this goal. This program also works with internal and external partners on a variety of transit-related issues including: advocating for park and ride lot sighting, creation and usage; developing and implementing innovative technologies such as transit signal priority and vehicle assist and automation magnetic guidance, and; creating Information Bulletins. Ultimately the Transit Integration program is responsible for being a change-agent for process modifications within the Department to help Caltrans become truly multimodal.”
