Carson Pass Highway This U.S. Forest Service Scenic Byway and State Scenic Highway winds through the western slope of the Sierra Nevada, crossing the summit to Carson Pass to the eastern slope of the Sierra Nevada. Amador From Dew Drop Ranger Station to the Alpine County line. 33 miles 40 minutes at 50 mph. Steep and mountainous at times. Chains may be required or partial road closures can occur during winter storms.
Alpine From Amador County line to the Nevada state line. 26 miles 31 minutes at 50 mph.
