This route has some suburban development within the corridor. However, the predominate view is of groves of Cottonwood and Oak trees along the banks of the Santa Ana River with distant views of chaparral covered hillsides. The eastern portion of the route lies in the floor of the Santa Ana River canyon adjacent to an Orange County recreational area.
