Route 395 Photo Album

Mono County - From near Long Valley Resort to 1 mile north of Route 203 (the turnoff to Mammoth Mountain Resort).

The route traverses along the slope of the east edge of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, through what is normally known as Little Round Valley or sometimes called Convict Flat. Being above 7,000 feet, the scenery is typical of that normally found in high desert meadows. To the east of the highway can be seen Crowley Lake and to the west are the high peaks of the Sierra Nevada.

Inyo County - From Fort Independence to Fish Springs Road.

The scenic corridor includes the Owens River Valley with mountains rising 8,000 to 10,000 feet for a backdrop. Much of the Sierra Crest along the west side of the valley is included in wilderness areas. The lands adjacent to the highway include the home of several small herds of Tule Elk. The Department of Fish and Game has constructed several "overlooks" where the public may observe these animals.
