Olancha - Cartago 4 Lane Project Purpose
What is the purpose of the project?
The purpose of the project is to:
- Improve the operation of the road
- Fix deteriorating pavement
- Widen the two-lane road to a four-lane road to fill a gap between two four-lane segments of road
- Improve the flow of traffic (level of service rating)
- Widen the road so the road can handle more vehicles (capacity)
- Ease peak traffic congestion and traveler delay
The proposed project would improve the level of service of the existing facility; provide increased capacity to meet present and future traffic demands, and ease peak traffic congestion and queuing by expanding the existing highway to a four-lane expressway. Safety is expected to improve if this project is built.
