| WHO: | The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) in cooperation with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) announces that the CHP will begin air enforcement measures on northbound and southbound State Route 99 within the project limits of the Kingsburg to Selma 6-lane widening project in Fresno County | ||
| WHAT: | In an effort to remind motorists that 55 mph is the posted speed limit within this construction zone, air enforcement and ground units are being utilized in order to reduce the number of potential accidents within the construction project. Caltrans reminds motorists that “We’re Here to Get You There Safely.” | ||
| WHEN: | CHP ground units began increased enforcement efforts today. Within the next two weeks, air enforcement will be implemented in the morning and evening hours within this construction zone. However, future taskforces will be scheduled intermittently throughout the remainder of this construction project. CHP will release statistical data on the number of citations issued at the end of the two-week enforcement period. | ||
| WHERE: | Fresno County, between Kingsburg and Selma on northbound and southbound State Route 99 | ||
| ACTIVITIES: | CHP ground units will work with air enforcement to identify speeders who fail to adhere to the 55 mph signage within the Kingsburg to Selma construction project. The taskforce will utilize traditional enforcement, Lidar, Radar and aircraft resources in order to help reduce the number of potential accidents | ||
