Caltrans to Hold Open House/Public Information Meeting
on the State Route 65 Terra Bella Expressway Project
WHO: Caltrans, the Federal Highway Administration and the Tulare County Association of Governments are proposing to widen the existing 2-lane Expressway to a 4-lane Expressway in Tulare County. Caltrans has completed the analysis of the effects this project may have on the environment and has prepared an Environmental Assessment/Draft Environmental Impact Report. Caltrans will hold an Open House/Public Information Meeting to allow for the review of these and other project documents.
WHAT: Caltrans is proposing to widen State Route 65 from 2-lane Expressway to a 4-lane Expressway between the Kern and Tulare County line and the City of Porterville. This project, if built, would construct two additional lanes and a median with a minimum width of 61 feet to separate the northbound and southbound traffic. The proposed project will increase capacity on State Route 65 in the project limits, improve safety and the flow of traffic.

This public hearing will be held to show the proposed project alternatives and formally record comments related to the project, its impacts and its alternatives.
WHEN: Wednesday, March 17, 2005 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
WHERE: Porterville Union High School Cafeteria, 485 West Olive, Porterville CA.
ACTIVITIES: The public is invited to comment on the environmental document. Comments may be submitted at the Open House meeting or in writing no later than April 15, 2005. Copies of the document are available for review at the following locations:
