The responses to bidder's inquiries, unless incorporated into a formal addendem to the contract, are not a part of the contract and are provided for the bidder's convenience only. In some instances, the question and answer may represent a summary of the matters discussed rather than a word-for-word recitation. The availability or use of information provided in the responses to bidder's inquiries is not to be construed in any way as a waiver of the provisions of Section 2-1.03 of the Standard Specifications or any other provision of the contract, the plans, Standard Specifications or Special Provisions, nor to excuse the contractor from full compliance with those contract requirements. Bidders are cautioned that subsequent responses or contract addenda may affect or vary a response previously given.

Q1) "Summary - The work shall consist of procedures for removal, repair, and disposal of lead based materials which are designated on the plans or specified in these special provisions to be removed and disposed of." There is no lead abatement work designated on the plans or specified in the special provisions. Please clarify.

A1) Refer to Addendum No. 1 it will clarify your concerns.

Q2) "Existing Site Conditions - The building areas to be removed are known to contain lead containing materials. A hazardous material survey report...is included as an Information Handout. The following items tested positive for Lead Based Paint material:" There in no hazardous material survey report included as an Information Handout. There is no list of items that tested positive for lead. Please clarify.

A2) Refer to Addendum No. 1 it will clarify your concerns.

Q3) Existing site conditions
The statement, "Location of asbestos containing materials and presumed asbestos containing materials from survey reports where work is performed include:", is followed by an Asbestos Containing Materials schedule that is blank. The Asbestos Containing Materials schedule for "where no work is performed" is also blank. Sheet A-1, Removal Floor Plan, indicates, "Remove existing vinyl asbestos tile flooring in office", which is the only asbestos abatement work designated on the plans or specified in the special provisions. Please clarify.

A3) Refer to Addendum No. 1 it will clarify your concerns.

Q4) The Notice to Contractors specifies May 30 for bid opening which falls on a Friday. The time listed is 10 am. Is the State really opening bids on a Friday at 10 am or was this a mistake?

A4) The bid opening date and time are correct. The bids will be opened on Friday, May 30 at 10 am.

Q5) Sheet ST-4 Grid C refers to 2x6 Studs 12" O.C.
Sheet ST-7 Refers to 2x6 Studs 16" O.C.
Please clarify which applies.
