Q1) Will there be the requirement of "Clean & Paint Steel Soldier Pilings" for this project? As there is not a section in the Special Provision nor detailed on the drawings.

A1) There is no requirement for "Clean & Pail Steel Soldier Pilings" on this project. 30Jun11.


Q2) 60 lbs / acre is too little to provide protection. Standard application is 100 to 120 lbs/acre. Given the slope angle; 150 lbs /acre is more effective. What rate do we use for bidding?

A2) Bid according to contract plans and specifications, if changes are necessary, they will be handled by proposed Contract Change Order. 12Jul11.


Q3) Is there a set of "Road Plans"? Sheet 10 of 32 makes reference to "See 'Road Plans'" for roadway excavation and backfill but I have not been able to find any drawings titled "Road Plans."

A3) Please refer to Plan Sheet No. 2 of 55 for limits of roadway excavation and backfill. Please refer to Addendum No. 2 dated July 21, 2011. 21Jul11.


Q4) The stay plates used to strap the beams together is not called out in the plans. What will the dimensions and the spacing of stay plates be?
