Q) On plans sheet E1 note 2, there is a reference to the irrigation controller enclosure cabinet, " as per sheet E-5 ". There is no reference on sheet E-5 to the irrigation controller enclosures required for the project, on sheets E-1, E-2,E-3 & E-4. Is the information regarding the size of the irrigation controller enclosure required listed elsewhere in the plans.

A) Please reference the 1999 State of California Department of Transportation Standard Plans.

Q) Regarding the type III AF services listed on sheets E1 and E3,the equipment legend on these sheets lists the photoelectric controls as TYPE V, but I do not see a preference for the type of contactors normally listed under "photoelectric controls" in the special provisions. Which type of contactors would be specified, mercury or mechanical?

A) The contactor shall be either the mechanical armature type or the mercury displacement type.

Q) Regarding the service listed on sheet E4 note 1(ctid # 05491010014320G), the incoming utility is listed as PGE 120v, and the note lists the service as "120v 2 wire". Yet the circuit breaker listed for the main is listed as a 100 amp 2 pole. Are there plans for this service to be 120 / 240 v 1 phase 3 wire in the future?/ or are we installing a 2 pole main and just not using 1 pole/ or is the main supposed to be a 100 amp 1 pole?

A) Yes, there are future plans for this service therefore a 2 pole main needs to be installed. No, the main is not supposed to be a 100 amp 1 pole.

Q) Is any equipment required to be purchased by the contractor for installation at the existing base station? Are others to install the needed equipment and we just coordinate the installation?

A) No equipment is required to be purchased by the Contractor except that the Contractor will be required to coordinate all work necessary to complete the base station on this project as detailed in the Special Provisions.

Q) Has a communications check been done at all the controller locations to ensure feasability?

A) Yes

Q) How are the yagi directional antennae to be mounted. Are separate masts required or can they be mounted on the ICC enclosures?

A) The antennas will be mounted to the enclosure.

Q) Is there a POC and flow sensor not shown on the plans that the flow monitor transmitter at controller D is intended to serve?

A) There is only one POC on the job with one flow sensor.

Q) What purpose do the pulse decoders serve in this system?

A) There should be no pulse detectors on this project.

Q) We note that there is a single item for 32 sta. Controllers although the equipment packages are priced differently.

A) All item costs associated with 32 Station irrigation controllers should be included in the contract item price.

Q) At the B and C controller locations on plan sheet I-4 shows separate enclosures but the quantities sheet indicates a single double enclosure.

A) Controllers B & C should be installed within one double enclosure cabinet.

Q) On page 119 of the Special Provisions under Installation there is mention of communication cable being terminated in each controller. Is it the intent to loop a cable through each controller? Only 200 meters of cable are indicated on the bid item.

A) No, the communication cable should only be installed from controller B to the flow sensor.

Q) On page 107 of the special provisions under maintain existing planted areas it refers to watering existing plants. In a number of areas it does not appear that the new irrigation as shown on plans will provide water to existing plantings. How are they being watered now?

A) The areas are being watered with a water truck.

Q) The relocation of (E) WM from Oak Park Blvd (I-10) to W. Branch St. (I-4) is shown on the plans but not specified in the specials. The Item No. 06 covers the relocation of Backflow Preventer Assembly, but there is no item for the WM. Will the water utility company (Name?) relocate the WM?

A) The WM will be relocated by the city of Arroyo Grande.

Q) If not, please provide/clarify: Name of utility company including contact name with telephone number; Who is paying for what (i.e. Fees, Permits, etc.); Specification of main tap and service connection.

A) The relocation will be made by the city of Arroyo Grande.
