Contract 05-0161G4
The responses to bidder's inquiries, unless incorporated into a formal addendem to the contract, are not a part of the contract and are provided for the bidder's convenience only. In some instances, the question and answer may represent a summary of the matters discussed rather than a word-for-word recitation. The availability or use of information provided in the responses to bidder's inquiries is not to be construed in any way as a waiver of the provisions of Section 2-1.03 of the Standard Specifications or any other provision of the contract, the plans, Standard Specifications or Special Provisions, nor to excuse the contractor from full compliance with those contract requirements. Bidders are cautioned that subsequent responses or contract addenda may affect or vary a response previously given.
Q) Can you please explain the discrepancy with the import borrow number in relation to the roadway ex and embankment numbers for location one?
A) There is no discrepancy, the table
shows that at location 1 there is not enough usable material
generated from the excavation therefore additional material
will have to be brought in to construct the embankment.
A) It is assumed that a majority of materials from Roadway Excavation will not meet contracts intended use for the constructed embankment and will be disposed of. The embankment will be primarily composed of imported borrow as specified in 10-1.23 Earthwork.
Q) We note that the Bid Opening is scheduled the same week as the Thanksgiving Holiday. With our busy schedule and it being a short week, it will be difficult to put in the time to submit a bid. Is there any consideration or possibility that this bid opening will be postponed?
A) Bid according to the contract plans and specifications.
