Q1) In specs 298-302 the spec say railings and barriers. I dont see any indication about the details for the fence. example all fence per drawing a 86 per spec sec. 80-3.?
A1) This 40,000 ft Minor B job only has 15 working days this is a 50 day job, LDs are 1900.00 a day The Eng Estimate is already low can we get a few more days?
Q2) There are only 15 working days allowed for this project, is that correct? Due to size, it seems more like a 45-50 working day job (we did drive the site yesterday) If the 15 days is correct it would appear to be a large amount of potential liquidated damages?

A3) Bidders for Minor B contracts (under $250,000) should use the Bidder's Inquiry Form on the Central Region inquiries site: http://www.dot.ca.gov/dist6/construction.

A4) Refer to Section 10-1.17 "TYPE WM FENCE" of the Project Special Provisions (Page 60 of 401 in the bid package) for instructions for the WM fence specific to this contract. This specification directs you to Section 80 "Fences" of the Standard Specifications for additional requirements for material, construction, measurement, payment, etc. Please also refer to the Amendments to the 2006 Standard Specifications for Section 80, beginning on page 299 of 401, and the Standard Plans List for Fences, beginning on page 4 of 401, for additional details
Q5) On fence do you want all material to be galvanized finish.(posts, barbwire, wire mesh)
Do you want pipe posts for for all ends, corners, bracing? Galvanized?
Do you want T posts w/ clips or pipe posts for line posts? If you want T posts, do you want them galvanized finish? Do you want them galvanized and painted? or black steel w/ painted finish?
A5) Refer to Section 10-1.17 "TYPE WM FENCE" of the Project Special Provisions: "The fence material shall be fastened to metal posts. Metal posts shall be galvanized." Refer to Section 80 "Fences" of the Standard Specifications and the Standard Plans for additional details.
Q6) Is there any way to postpone this project?
A6) The due date for price quotes will not be postponed.
