Q1) Spec Section 10-1.08 - another contractor (10-0n2104) is scheduled to start during this contract is underway.

1) Who is the Contractor?
2) When is their anticipated start date for RAC?
3) When is their anticipated end for RAC?
4) When are they scheduled to complete their contract?
5) What plant(s) are they pulling from?

Q2) Spec Section pg 110 indicates 120 working days for this contract: This seems aggressive for the area this project is in. Looks like Caltrans design is anticipating two crews for this project. Why; give the contractor the time to complete in a save reasonable timeframe.

We are seeking additional working days to complete project. The other option is to add LD’s to bid and at $23,500/cal/day – does Caltrans want the extra money to be added to contractor’s bids?? You make the call??

A) Multiple crews are anticipated as indicated by the lane requirement charts in Section 10-1.16, "Maintaining Traffic," of the Special Provisions, and the following paragraph, which states:

“Unless approved by the Engineer, one stationary lane closure for mainline paving operations will be allowed at one time in each direction. For non-paving operations, two stationary lane closures may be allowed, one south of State Route 152 and one north of State Route 33, with approval by the Engineer.”

Working days were established based on this assumption. Please bid in accordance with the contract plans and specifications.
