Caltrans crews have ordered an emergency closure of the Westbound #2 lane of the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge. Crews have found an expanding hole developing in the bridge deck. For safety reasons, bridge maintenance supervisors decided to close the lane immediately, rather than waiting for night hours.

The westbound #2 lane will be closed from the Marin County line to the end of the bridge, effective immediately. Crews should have the work completed by four o’clock this afternoon.
