Lane Closure on San Mateo Bridge on Sunday Morning
Caltrans crews will close the westbound #2 lane (left lane) of the San Mateo Bridge on Sunday, May 6, from 4 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. to allow workers to make an electronic survey of the new San Mateo Bridge, presently being constructed adjacent to the existing bridge. The lane will be closed for a distance of approximately two miles, beginning shortly after the toll plaza on the East Bay shore.
Since typical traffic Sunday traffic increases quickly after 9 a.m., Caltrans traffic managers will closely monitor this lane closure. Crews will reopen the lane if traffic becomes congested.
Although most surveys on the San Mateo Bridge can be accomplished during nighttime lane closures, this particular survey must be done during daylight hours.
