TRAFFIC ADVISORYuuEMERGENCY PAVING TOMORROW ON NORTHBOUND I-880
DELAYS EXPECTED
San Jose—On Friday, January 19 between 9 AM and 4 PM crews will close up to two lanes on northbound Interstate 880 between Coleman Avenue and North First Street in San Jose. Crews will repair the slow lane as the pavement is beginning to break apart and a pavement lip is developing.
Both the middle and slow lanes may be affected by this closure in order to protect motorists and paving crews. The freeway is three lanes at this point. Motorists are advised to expect delays and use other routes in this area.
Lanes were restriped and traffic was shifted out toward the shoulder last October in order to construct columns in the median for the Route 87 temporary overcrossing. The shoulder pavement has not been able to handle the normal traffic load, so crews will repave this lane tomorrow. Lanes will be restriped and traffic shifted back into the normal median configuration in the next few months when the overcrossing construction is completed.
