Overnight Closure of I-580 Lanes near Dublin

Three lanes of Westbound Interstate 580 will be closed from the evening of June 30 to the morning of July 1, Caltrans officials announced today.

The closures will be from the Hopyard Exit to the 580/680 interchange, near the city of Dublin. The number 2, 3, and 4 lanes will be closed. Lanes 3 and 4 will close at 9:30pm, and the number 2 lane will be added to the closure at midnight. All lanes will be re-opened by 9am Sunday morning, July 1. Lane number 1 (the far left lane) will remain open the entire time.

Crews will replace several of the concrete slabs in the roadway. These slabs have deteriorated with age, leading to a somewhat rough ride. This operation will give motorists a more comfortable ride along this stretch of the I-580 corridor. At the same time, maintenance crews will use this opportunity to perform several other tasks.

Changeable message signs will be in place to warn motorists of the closure. Caltrans asks motorists to bear in mind that traffic fines are doubled in construction zones. Please remember to "Slow in the Cone Zone."
