Caltrans construction crews will be closing one lanes of traffic on eastbound Route 4 between Bailey Road and Railroad Avenue on Friday night, June 30th, between the hours of 12:00 midnight and 8:00 a.m. Saturday, for the purpose of switching traffic from the outside lanes to the inside detour lanes.

Crews will first close the #1 or left hand lane in the current alignment on the outside lanes adjacent to the soundwalls, between midnight Friday and approximately 3:00 a.m., Saturday morning.

All eastbound Route 4 traffic between Bailey and Railroad will be slowed and then stopped temporarily by a CHP rolling block, to complete the traffic switch to the inside detour lanes.

Crews will then be closing the #2 or right hand lane for the purpose of removing and replacing the temporary concrete barrier (K-rail) onto the new detour alignment between about 3:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. Saturday morning. This traffic switch is scheduled to remain in effect for two weeks to allow the contractor to complete work in the outside lane and shoulder areas.

Minor traffic delays are anticipated, use of alternate routes is advised, when possible. Motorists are advised that construction zones are double fine zones. For more on-time traffic information, call TravInfo at 8171717.
