Crews will pave the right lane of southbound Highway 17 near the Cats Restaurant on Sunday, December 17 between 2 AM and 11 AM. The right lane will be closed between the North Santa Cruz Avenue on-ramp and Montevina Road, but the left lane will remain open. Additionally, the North Santa Cruz Avenue on-ramp to southbound Highway from the City of Los Gatos will be closed intermittently during this same time period.

Motorists are advised to be aware of work crews and slow down in the work zone. Minimal delays are expected.

Reports of a bumpy ride in this section prompted Caltrans to make the repairs. The 4,000-foot section of pavement had been repaired and paved last year, but at the time the equipment was inefficient for the paving and the asphalt cooled too quickly to provide a smooth road surface.

Just as the northbound lanes received a major overlay this year, the southbound lanes are scheduled for an overlay in the next two to three years.
