BAY BRIDGE TOLL PLAZA CLOSURES
SET FOR THIS FRIDAY, SATURDAY NIGHTS
Various westbound lanes at the Bay Bridge Toll Plaza will be closed overnight on Friday and Saturday nights, Caltrans officials have announced.
The closure is for restriping of toll lanes in preparation of the FasTrak opening on November 29 and needs to be done this weekend to avoid potential weather and traffic impacts over the Thanksgiving holiday.
On Friday, Nov. 17, crews will close various toll lanes between the toll plaza and metering lights from 11:30 pm until 6 am Saturday morning.
On Saturday, Nov. 18, crews will close toll booths #1 through #13 (from the left side) between the 880 overcrossing and the toll plaza from midnight until 7 am Sunday morning. The seven toll booths on the right side will remain open during this closure.
Also, two eastbound lanes will be closed both nights from midnight until 6 am for retrofit work on the upper deck of the west span.
Caltrans is encouraging motorists who plan to drive westbound into San Francisco either night to cross the Bay Bridge before 11:30 pm to avoid possible traffic delays.
The closures will be clearly marked and signed to advise motorists, who may experience minor delays during this work. CHP units will be on scene to assist with traffic control.
