The rehabilitation of this safety roadside rest area (SRRA) will replace aging facilities and ensure compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990. This facility is located on westbound Interstate 80 (I-80) in the City of Vallejo.
Needs and Benefits
This rehabilitation project was initiated to upgrade the Hunter Hill SRRA and to bring the site into compliance with the ADA of 1990. Additionally, several features will be constructed to assist travelers. These enhancements include an increased number of restroom facilities, a designated dog walking area, and picnic area. A new California Highway Patrol (CHP) “drop-in” office will be constructed. This office will provide for an increased law enforcement profile and enhanced patrol presence in the area.Construction Impacts
The Hunter Hill Safety Roadside Rest Area will be CLOSED during construction.
