Study Area Description

The project area is located in the San Francisco Bay Area in northern California. The study area includes the State Route 24 corridor between Alameda and Contra Costa Counties, from Interstate 580 in Oakland, to Interstate 680 in Walnut Creek. State Route 24 serves as a major transportation corridor between Alameda and Contra Costa Counties and as a local highway in portions of Berkeley, Oakland, Orinda, Lafayette, and Walnut Creek. The project limits extend from the SR 24/Broadway interchange in Alameda County to the SR 24/Camino Pablo interchange in Contra Costa County.
