880 AC Resurfacing

Project Objective:
This project enhances safety along State Route 880 from Old Bayshore Highway Overcrossing to Route 280/880 Separation near the City of San Jose, in Santa Clara County. The major scope of work consists of resurfacing the existing pavement.
Need and Benefits:
Resurfacing pavement will improve the surface condition and potentially eliminate the formation of concentrated storm runoff areas during wet weather conditions. Upon completion, this project will provide a more adequate facility for motorists.
Project Status:
The Design of the project was completed in October 2010. The project is funded by SHOPP and it was awarded and approved in January 2011.
Project Costs:
The Engineer’s estimate for construction costs is: $ 8,539,650
Project Schedule:
The project is expected to start in June 2011 and is scheduled to be completed by Fall 2011.
Summary:
Upon completion, this project will help to improve the road surface for the motorist in this segment of Route 880 in San Jose, Santa Clara County.
