Alameda County Transportation Commission
California Department of Transportation, Tri-Valley Transportation Council (TVTC), City of Livermore, and the City of Pleasanton
The I-580, I-680 and Route 84 corridors play significant roles in the econo9omy of the Tri-Valley region by linking major office, commercial, industrial, and residential areas in Alameda County and the Central Valley to the South Bay Area. Currently, Route 84, I-580 and I-680 are congested during peak hours. This project will alleviate some existing and projected congestion along Route 84 and the I-680/I-580 corridors, improve safety and operations, and provide for more efficient movement of commuter traffic and trucked goods along the Route 84 corridor.
This project will widen the existing highway in Alameda County near Livermore along State Route 84 from two to four lanes north of Concannon Blvd. to Stanley Blvd. and from two to six lanes from Stanley Blvd. to Jack London Blvd.
The project is scheduled to begin June 2012.
The estimated cost of the project is $25 Million.
