FROM LAWRENCE EXPRESSWAY TO SR 82/85 SEPERATION
Project Location:
In Santa Clara County in Santa Clara, Sunnyvale and Mountain View on southbound of El Camino Real from Lawrence Expressway to 0.4 mile west of Route 85. SCL-82-PM 14.3/19.2 (SB)
Need & Purpose:
The pavement within the project limits is showing minor distress and unacceptable ridding quality, which when left uncorrected will deteriorate to major roadway rehabilitation need. This project will improve the safety of the ride and extend the service life of the existing pavement.
Scope:
Cold Plane 0.1' thick 3 lane AC Pavement and overlay with Open Grade Friction Course (OGFC) to improve the ride quality prevent further deterioration of traveling surface life and minimize costly roadway repairs and extend the pavement service life. Some deteriorated existing pavement will have 6-in replace AC surfacing – AC digouts.
Schedule:
Construction of project is expected to start in August, 2012 and is scheduled to be completed by November, 2012.
Costs:
Engineer's Estimate: $1,919,645.00
Award Amount: $1,642,885.00
Summary:
Upon completion, this project will preserve and extend the life of existing pavement, as well as improve the ride for the travelling public and improve overall system performance.
