SR-152 Ferguson Road Project
On Route 152 in Santa Clara County near Gilroy from 0.2 miles east of Furlong Avenue to 0.2 miles west of Canada Road.
Need & Purpose
The purpose of this project is to provide for safer passage and regulate traffic movement by realigning Route 152 and installing signals at the intersection of Route 152 and Ferguson Road.
New pavement structural sections will be constructed to accommodate a standard width through lane and left-turn lane with storage on eastbound Route 152, a standard width through lane and right-turn only lane on westbound Route 152, a standard width left-turn lane with storage and right-turn only lane on southbound Ferguson Road, a standard width through lane on northbound Ferguson Road, and standard width outside shoulders throughout the project's limits. As an existing substandard radius curve will be perpetuated, lanes wider than standard will be constructed through this curve to accommodate the movement of traffic. In addition, the existing roadway will be resurfaced with asphalt concrete.
Construction of the project is expected to start in July of 2012 and is scheduled to be completed by December of 2012.
Engineer’s Estimate: $2,550,000.00
Award Amount: $2,028,740.00
Upon completion of this project, the Route 152/Ferguson Road intersection will have signals to regulate traffic movement; and the through lanes, the left-turn lanes, and the right-turn lanes will have standard width of 12 feet and the shoulder will have standard width of 8 feet.
