Sacramento 50 Bus-Carpool Lane and Community Enhancements Project
The Notice of Preparation (NOP) for the project was released on June 2, 2005. Copies of the NOP were sent to 34 local, state, and federal agencies. A notice regarding the availability of the NOP and the time and location of the public open houses/scoping meetings was sent to 38 agencies and organizations, as well as approximately 64,000 adjacent residents. The notice of public open houses/scoping meetings also appeared in several local newspapers, including the City Region and East Region sections of the Sacramento Bee on June 16th and 23rd , and in the Mountain Democrat and Folsom Telegraph on June 12th and 16th .
Caltrans conducted three public open houses/scoping meetings; two on June 21, 2005 at the Sacramento Central Library in downtown Sacramento (10 AM – 2 PM and 4 – 7 PM) and one at the Mills Station Community Room in Rancho Cordova (6 – 8 PM). Approximately 100 members of the public attended the three public open houses. About 40 comments sheets were left in the comment box.
