Harbor Boulevard Interchange Project

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
This project will reconfigure the U.S. Highway 50/Harbor Boulevard interchange to a modified version of a partial cloverleaf. It is scheduled to include loop ramps in the northeast and southeast quadrants, widen Harbor Boulevard to 6 lanes, improve adjacent intersections, add auxiliary lanes and install soundwalls.
The purpose of this project is to improve mobility and reduce congestion at the interchange by increasing capacity, improving the level of safety and enhance movement to and from the Port of Sacramento and the adjacent industrial area.
SCOPE OF WORK
- Harbor Boulevard will be widen from four lanes to 6 lanes between Evergreen Avenue to Beacon Boulevard.
- Left and right-turn pockets will be added a various locations.
- The bridge structure will be widened to approximately 47 feet.
- Auxiliary lanes will be added in both directions between I-80 connector ramps and Harbor Boulevard
- Three ramps will be constructed, one deleted and the remaining three will be modified.
