Making transit a more practical travel option is one of the Department's five goals. While the Department is widely recognized as being responsible for the State's highways and freeways, not many people are aware of the Department's interest in helping to improve and expand transit service. We recognize that transit is a vital component of the State's transportation system. As part of our work to make transit a more practical travel option, the Department administers a variety of transit funding programs which are described in the Division of Mass Transportation's (DMT) website. The DMT website includes program descriptions, funding schedules, and contact people. The District 3 Transit Liaisons serve as the primary point of contact for the Department on Transit issues at the local level. Please click on the map below for the Transit Liaisons in each Disrtict 3 area. For overall mass transportation activities, the District 3 Mass Transportation Program Liaison serves as the single point of contact for DMT and the general public.
