Caltrans Hosts Small Business Procurement Fair

SACRAMENTO – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will be hosting a Small Business Procurement Fair on Tuesday, January 22.  The Procurement Fair is being held in accordance with the Governor’s Executive Orders S-02-06 and S-11-06, which require State Departments to make efforts to meet or exceed a 25% small business goal.

The Procurement Fair provides an opportunity for small business vendors to make on-the-spot sales of goods and services, meet with Caltrans buyers and network with other Small Business Enterprises, Disabled Veteran Business Enterprises and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises.

“Caltrans was the first State Department to host Procurement Fairs and is committed to increasing small business participation, said Will Kempton, Director of Caltrans. “In the last 12 months, we have held Procurement Fairs in San Diego, Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Fresno and Oakland, which have accounted for more than $1.5 million in procurement of goods and services from small businesses.  We are very proud of this accomplishment and will continue to host Procurement Fairs statewide,” he added.

The Procurement Fair will take place at the Sacramento Employment and Training Agency (SETA) Office, located at 925 Del Paso Blvd., in Sacramento from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
