SMALL SLIPOUT ON STATE ROUTE 49 NORTH OF DOWNIEVILLE

REDUCES ROADWAY TO ONE-WAY TRAFFIC

 

Marysville - The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) announced today that at approximately 6:00 a.m., a small slipout was reported on State Route 49 two miles north of Downieville. The slipout is approximately two feet into the travel way. There is about a 15 foot vertical face at the slipout. One-way traffic control has been set up with stop signs and traffic cones to divert traffic away from the slipout.

An emergency contract will be processed to expedite repairs of the roadway and to stabilize the shoulder and hillside. It is not known at this time when the repairs will be completed.

Motorists are advised to use caution when traveling through the area and to watch for any further changes in the traveled way, and to "Slow For The Cone Zone".
