CALTRANS UNVEILS VETERANS OF FOREGIN WARS MEMORIAL HIGHWAY SIGNS ON HIGHWAY 70 IN OROVILLE

 

MARYSVILLE – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) unveiled two signs today (April 22) dedicating Highway 70 in Oroville between Pacific Heights/Georgia Way and Garden Drive as the Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Highway.

A sign dedication ceremony will be held by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Oroville Post No. 1747 Friday, April 22 at 11:00 a.m. at the former Georgia Pacific facility parking lot.

The Oroville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1747 was established in November of 1929 and has sought to protect the rights of California's veterans for over 75 years. Assemblyman Sam Aanestad (R-Grass Valley) sponsored Assembly Concurrent Resolution No. 149 officially renaming that stretch of Highway 70 in Oroville. The resolution was adopted by the California State Assembly and Senate.
