EASTBOUND DOUGLAS BLVD OFF-RAMP CLOSURE RE-SCHEULED

Roseville - The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) announced today the eastbound Douglas Blvd. off-ramp closure, originally scheduled for closure today, has been rescheduled due to wet weather.

The new schedule calls for the eastbound Douglas Boulevard off-ramp from eastbound I-80 to be closed beginning Monday, April 11 at 6 a.m. until Friday April 22 at 11:59 p.m. The ramp is being closed so work crews can complete tunnel excavation work and realign the ramp into its new configuration.

Motorists may take the Riverside Avenue exit as an alternate route to Douglas Blvd.

Unexpected weather may prolong or cause the work to be rescheduled. Roadside message boards will post the latest information. Caltrans also urges all motorists to use caution in this area and to "Slow for the Cone Zone."

The traffic restrictions are a necessary part of the work on a $35 million project by the City of Roseville to improve the I-80/Douglas Boulevard interchange. Key features of the project include an 800-foot tunnel that will allow traffic heading north on Sunrise Avenue to board eastbound I-80 and a "fly-over" ramp that will allow traffic on eastbound Douglas to cross I-80 and connect to southbound Sunrise Avenue. Completion is scheduled in the fall 2005.
