Caltrans to
Begin Paving Project on State Highway 89
Truckee: The
California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) announced today that work on
a $375,000 paving project will begin Monday, May 24, along State Highway 89
from Squaw Creek to Big Chief.
The project calls for
grinding damaged pavement and paving with asphalt concrete. Completion is expected in early June.
Traffic will be
affected due to lane closures with one-way traffic control. At times, delays of up to ten minutes can be
expected.
Caltrans urges the
motoring public to use caution, be patient and to PLEASE "Slow for the
Cone Zone."
