Caltrans to Begin Paving Project on State Highway 89

Truckee: The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) announced today that work on a $375,000 paving project will begin Monday, May 24, along State Highway 89 from Squaw Creek to Big Chief.

The project calls for grinding damaged pavement and paving with asphalt concrete.  Completion is expected in early June.

Traffic will be affected due to lane closures with one-way traffic control.  At times, delays of up to ten minutes can be expected.

Caltrans urges the motoring public to use caution, be patient and to PLEASE "Slow for the Cone Zone."
