ALL TRAFFIC TO STOP AT HIGHWAY 193 AND SIERRA COLLEGE
BLVD. IN PLACER COUNTY
Lincoln
-- California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is scheduled to install
stop signs and flashing beacons (weather pending) on January 8, 2004 in advance
of a signalization project.
A
project involving installation of a four-way signal, drainage improvements and
addition of left-turn lanes is scheduled to begin construction in 2004. To address immediate traffic concerns, an
interim safety project was initiated by Auburn Area California Highway Patrol
(CHP) and Caltrans in cooperation with Placer County.
Motorists traveling in both
directions on Route 193 at the intersection of Sierra College Boulevard will
now be required to stop. The right-turn movement from northbound Route 193 to
Sierra College Boulevard east of Lincoln will still be allowed with a yield
until the signal is installed.
