Sacramento- The
California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is advising motorists that
State Highway 51 (also known as the Capital City Freeway) from Capitol Avenue
to Arden Way will be subject to lane closures.
Starting April 17, motorists can expect the north and southbound #1
lanes to be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Friday. The closures and work occurring on State
Highway 51 are part of a $9.3 million project to repair and upgrade the median
barrier. Completion is expected in
August.
Unexpected weather or
equipment problems may prolong or cause the work to be rescheduled. Motorists are advised to use caution when
traveling through the work area and to “Slow For the Cone Zone”.
