Local Assistance - We help local agencies meet federal and state requirements consistent with social, economic and environmental goals.
-
The Division of Local Assistance is an advocate for local agencies using federal and state funding to complete various roadway and bridge projects located within their jurisdictions. The Division ensures that all federal and state funds designated to local agencies are used in a timely, cost effective manner, and for the purpose intended. In addition, Local Assistance helps local agencies meet federal and state requirements consistent with social, economic and environmental goals.
Statewide, the 12 District Local Assistance Offices administer over 25 different federal and state transportation funding programs and coordinate with over 600 public agencies to contribute approximately $1.2 billion annually to California's transportation system.
- The District 2 Office of Local Assistance provides services to cities and counties in Lassen, Modoc, Plumas, Shasta, Siskiyou, Tehama and Trinity Counties. The Office works in partnership with Regional Transportation Planning Agencies (RTPA's) and Local Transportation Commissions (LTC’s) from each county and serves as the primary point of contact for local agencies; helping them with their federal and state funded projects - from project implementation to project completion.
