Traffic congestion is a growing challenge
for both the California Department
of Transportation (Caltrans) and the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The
two departments have combined to provide coordinated communications
and transportation management to improve system performance through a
co-located Transportation Management Center.
The San Diego Transportation Management Center (TMC) located at 7183 Opportunity Road, San Diego
is the "first fully
co-located TMC in the State".
