Overnight Closures of Northbound I-805 Continue Wednesday and Thursday
SAN DIEGO –– Full closures of northbound Interstate 805 (I-805) from La Jolla Village Drive/ Miramar Road to Interstate 5 (I-5) will continue Wednesday and Thursday nights from 9:30 until 5 in the morning. The closures will allow for the installation of traffic sensors and pavement work for the I-805 North Express Lanes Project, Stage 1.
Detour signs will be posted directing motorists traveling north on I-805 to westbound State Route 52 (SR-52) to northbound I-5. Local traffic will be permitted to exit I-805 at Governor Drive and Nobel Drive.
Construction schedules are subject to change due to weather conditions. In the event of rain, the closures may be rescheduled.
Stage 1 of the project includes constructing one carpool lane in each direction in the median of I-805 from SR-52 to Mira Mesa Boulevard and a south-facing Direct Access Ramp at Carroll Canyon Road.
Motorists are reminded to Be Work Zone Alert and to Move Over a lane when safe to do so, or slow when highway workers are present with amber lights flashing.
