Northbound I-805 Closed Nights Monday and Tuesday in Golden Triangle

SAN DIEGO –– Crews will close northbound Interstate 805 (I-805) from La Jolla Village Drive/Miramar Road to Interstate 5 (I-5) on Monday and Tuesday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., according to Caltrans. The closures are needed to install vehicle detection sensors for ramp meters, which will help regulate the flow of traffic onto the I-805 in the Golden Triangle area.

Motorists on northbound I-805 will be detoured to westbound State Route 52 (SR-52) to northbound I-5 then onto northbound or southbound I-805.  Travelers will be allowed to exit at Nobel Drive and Governor Drive.

The work is part of Stage 1 of the I-805 North Express Lanes Project which is constructing one carpool lane in each direction in the median of I-805 from just north of SR-52 to just north of Mira Mesa Boulevard. The project includes construction of a Direct Access Ramp to and from southbound I-805 at Carroll Canyon Road, bridge widening and ramp modifications.  The construction cost for Stage 1 is about $86 million and is funded with state, federal and local sources, including the Proposition 1B State – Local Partnership Program and TransNet Extension funds.
Project information is available at KeepSanDiegoMoving.com/I-805-Corridor or by calling the Project Hotline at (877) 821-4280.
