Night Closures on Northbound I-805
SAN DIEGO –Construction crews will close northbound Interstate 805 (I-805) from State Route 52 (SR-52) to Mira Mesa Boulevard Monday and Tuesday nights from 9:30 until 5 in the morning, according to Caltrans. The closures are necessary for bridge demolition and rebar installation for the widening of the northbound I-805 bridge over Carroll Canyon Road.
Motorists traveling north on I-805 will be detoured to westbound State Route 52 (SR-52) and then to northbound Interstate 5 (I-5). Local traffic will be permitted to exit I-805 at Governor Drive and Nobel Drive. Motorists traveling north on I-805 from La Jolla Village Drive/Miramar Road, Nobel Drive, and Governor Drive may take southbound I-805 to westbound SR-52 to northbound I-5.
Stage 1 of the I-805 North Express Lanes Project is constructing one carpool lane in each direction in the median of I-805 from just north of SR- 52 to just north of Mira Mesa Boulevard. The project also includes construction of a Direct Access Ramp to and from southbound I-805 at Carroll Canyon Road. Additional improvements include bridge widening and ramp modifications. This stage is estimated to cost approximately $86 million.
Project information may be found at I-805North@keepsandiegomoving.com or by calling the Project Hotline at (877) 821-4280.
