I-5 Ocean View Rehab Project Work Schedule
SAN DIEGO – Construction to replace pavement on the Interstate 5 (I-5) Ocean View Rehab Project between Oceanside and the San Diego-Orange County Line will resume Monday night, according to Caltrans.
Portion of I-5 will be closed to one lane in each direction in sections, Monday-Thursday, 7 p.m.-5 a.m., and Friday from 9 p.m. to 8 a.m. The closures include the on- and off-ramps at Las Pulgas Road, with intermittent closures of the ramps at Basilone and Cristianitos roads.
Crews will insure that there are no consecutive ramp closures allowing motorists access to local streets with minimal out of direction travel.
In addition, the southbound entrance to the Aliso Creek Rest Area will be closed Friday, May 1 from 10 p.m.-8 a.m. Changeable Message Signs will be posted in advance of the closure. The nearest services are available in Oceanside.
Motorists are reminded that the maximum speed through a construction zone is 55 mph. These limits are set for the safety of motorists and highway workers.
The $43 million I-5 Ocean View Rehab Project is expected to be completed in winter 2016. For additional information contact the Caltrans Public Information Office at (619) 688-6670.
