Lane Closures on I-805/Vista Sorrento Parkway On-ramp
SAN DIEGO – Construction crews will close two of three lanes on the northbound Interstate 805 (I-805) on-ramp at Vista Sorrento Parkway Friday from 5-11:30 a.m. for pavement work, according to Caltrans. Signs are in place alerting motorists that traffic will be reduced to one lane.
Significant delays are not expected; however, motorists are advised to watch for longer traffic queues than usual and to drive with caution. Be Work Zone Alert!
The work is part of Stage 1 of the I-805 South Express Lanes Project, a $1.1 billion effort to create a modern, new transportation backbone that will meet the future needs of travelers in the region. This phase is constructing one carpool lane in each direction in the median of I-805 from just north of SR-52 to just north of Mira Mesa Boulevard. The project also includes construction of a Direct Access Ramp to and from southbound I-805 at Carroll Canyon Road. Additional improvements include bridge widening and ramp modifications. The estimated cost for Stage 1 is $86 million.
