Construction Continues on I-5 Ocean View Rehab Project
SAN DIEGO – Construction on the Interstate 5 (I-5) Ocean View Rehab Project between the Aliso Creek Rest Area and the San Diego-Orange County line will continue Monday through Saturday Feb. 23 - 28.
Crews will work on sections of the northbound and southbound lanes, closing three of the four lanes. The closures are scheduled to take place Monday through Thursday from 7:30 p.m. to 5 a.m., Friday from 9 p.m. to 8 a.m., and Saturday from 9 p.m. to 9 a.m.
The northbound Las Pulgas Road or Basilone Road on- and off-ramps, and the southbound Las Pulgas Road on- and off-ramps will also be closed Monday through Saturday from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. No two consecutive ramps will be closed at any time.
In addition, the southbound entrance to the Aliso Creek Rest Area will be closed Wednesday and Thursday from 4 p.m. to 8 a.m., and Friday from 4 p.m. to 10 a.m. Changeable Message Signs will be posted in advance of the closure. The nearest services are available are in Oceanside.
Motorists are reminded that the maximum speed through this construction zone is 55 mph. These limits are set for the safety of motorists and the men and women working adjacent to traffic.
The $43 million I-5 Ocean View Rehab Project is expected to be completed in fall 2015.
